Play is the work of children. The Playground Partnerships Awards programme gives children the ability to shape their environment and places them at the very heart of the project.
We understand and appreciate that the financial grants are important but for us The Playground Partnerships Awards are not just about the money. They are designed specifically to provide children with the opportunity to shape the thing they care most about – their play area.
From self-selection to form part of the team, through to portfolio production and completion of the application form, we encourage teachers and supervisors to allow children to take control and own their project, themselves.
We believe that the life skills children learn by completing their projects process are essential to their development into confident and responsible adults. Imagine managing a budget of up to £10,000 at age 8, 9 or 10yrs!
