WELCOME TO PLAYGROUND PARTNERSHIPS!
Playground Partnerships provides UK primary and special schools with the opportunity to apply for financial support to turn their ideas for improving their playgrounds into reality.
But it is about more than handing out awards: Playground Partnerships is unique in placing children at the heart of the application process. After all, who knows more about how best to improve a playground than the children who play in it?
Playground Partnerships also offers opportunities for high-quality teaching and learning right across the curriculum.
This is the teachers' section of the website which contains lots of useful information to support the Playground Partnerships scheme.
It includes:
- Details of how to apply and the awards on offer
- Specific information for special schools
- Tips from the judges on how you and your pupils can put together a winning application
- Downloadable resource materials
- Case studies from previous years' winning schools
- Useful links
- Images of work from other schools' applications
There are some fun interactive games and challenge sheets for children in the Playing at home section. These enjoyable activities can be used by children at home but you might also like to use them with your pupils to help develop their literacy, numeracy, communication and ICT skills.
All the activities are aimed at primary school pupils and each links to one of the Playground Partnerships team roles. The Health and Safety, Designer and Surveyor activities are designed for the lower primary age groups.
For more in-depth information about the scheme and how to apply, see the Playground Partnerships pack. It is completely FREE to take part. Click here to order your FREE copy of the 2008 resource pack.
